Dr. Radner was rector of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension\, Pueblo\, Colorado. His range of ministerial experience includes Burundi\, where he worked as a missionary\, Haiti\, inner-city Cleveland\, and Connecticut. He has taught at seminaries in Connecticut and Colorado. In the Anglican Communion context he is a member of the Covenant Design Group. He is a violinist\, hiker\, and traveler. He is married to the Rev. Annette Brownlee and they are the parents of Hannah and Isaac. Radner’s research and teaching interests include pneumatology\, ecclesiology and ecumenism\, and biblical hermeneutics. If MidJourney can create an image\, where does that leave graphic designers and artists? These questions draw us into the deep and complex relationships between our human identity and our intelligence and creativity. After all\, we want to believe we have a special divine spark of creativity within us. But it can be increasingly difficult to hold that belief amidst the ever-advancing sophistication of AI modeling that seems “more perfect” than those born of the Imago Dei. \nHarvard Law Professor Ruth L. Okediji can help us attend to these questions. As a leading scholar in intellectual property law and appointed member of the American Bar Association President’s Taskforce on AI and the Law\, she is among a small and distinguished group of experts studying creativity\, artistry\, and ownership of ideas and creative products. Okediji is the Jeremiah Smith\, Jr. Professor of Law at Harvard Law School\, Co-Director of Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society\, Founding Faculty Director of the Harvard Program on Biblical Law & Christian Legal Studies\, and Founding Faculty Director of the Center for the Study of African Societies and Economies (CSASE). Professor Okediji teaches contracts\, intellectual property (IP)\, Law and Development\, AI in the Just Society\, and courses on Biblical Law. Her research and scholarship examine innovation policy\, the digital economy\, and global knowledge governance. She has authored an extensive array of influential articles\, commissioned papers\, and book chapters on the relationship between intellectual property\, innovation\, and human wellbeing. \nProfessor Okediji was a member of the U.S. National Academies Board on Science\, Technology and Policy Committee on the Impact of Copyright Policy on Innovation in the Digital Era\, and in 2021 she completed service as Co-Chair of the National Academies Board on Science\, Technology\, and Economic Policy Committee on Advancing Commercialization from the Federal Laboratories. She advises governments and international organizations on a variety of issues at the intersection of innovation policy\, AI\, and human development. \nOver the course of her career\, Professor Okediji has received numerous awards and distinctions for teaching\, advising\, and mentoring. These include “Professor Most Likely to Go Beyond the Call of Duty” and the Student Bar Association’s “Outstanding Professor Award.” She is a two- time recipient of the Harvard Law School Women’s Law Association “Shatter the Ceiling” Award. She has been named one of the 50 most influential figures in the field of intellectual property by Managing IP and she received the 2019 Public Knowledge IP3 Award. In 2023 she was awarded the Barry Prize for Distinguished Intellectual Achievement by the American Academy of Sciences and Letters. \nProfessor Okediji served as an expert to the Africa Group and lead negotiator for the 2013 Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind\, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled. In 2024 she served as the Government of Nigeria’s expert negotiator for the WIPO Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge. \nProfessor Okediji serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of World Intellectual Property Law and the Journal of International Economic Law. She has authored an extensive array of influential articles\, commissioned papers\, and book chapters on the relationship between intellectual property\, innovation\, and human wellbeing. \nProfessor Okediji was a member of the U.S. National Academies Board on Science\, Technology and Policy Committee on the Impact of Copyright Policy on Innovation in the Digital Era\, and in 2021 she completed service as Co-Chair of the National Academies Board on Science\, Technology\, and Economic Policy Committee on Advancing Commercialization from the Federal Laboratories. She advises governments and international organizations on a variety of issues at the intersection of innovation policy\, AI\, and human development. \nOver the course of her career\, Professor Okediji has received numerous awards and distinctions for teaching\, advising\, and mentoring. These include “Professor Most Likely to Go Beyond the Call of Duty” and the Student Bar Association’s “Outstanding Professor Award.” She is a two- time recipient of the Harvard Law School Women’s Law Association “Shatter the Ceiling” Award. She has been named one of the 50 most influential figures in the field of intellectual property by Managing IP and she received the 2019 Public Knowledge IP3 Award. In 2023 she was awarded the Barry Prize for Distinguished Intellectual Achievement by the American Academy of Sciences and Letters. \nProfessor Okediji served as an expert to the Africa Group and lead negotiator for the 2013 Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind\, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled. In 2024 she served as the Government of Nigeria’s expert negotiator for the WIPO Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge. \nProfessor Okediji serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of World Intellectual Property Law and the Journal of International Economic Law. She is the immediate past-President of the Order of the Coif\, an elected member of the American Law Institute\, and an appointed member to the American Bar Association’s Presidential Taskforce on Artificial Intelligence and the Law.

Parham has published articles on the intersection of Black writers and classical liberal education in popular outlets including the Washington Post\, Wall Street Journal\, Public Discourse\, Comment Magazine\, The Hedgehog Review\, and Common Good Magazine. Her work finds expression in the community in her capacity as the co-founder and executive director of Nyansa Classical Community\, an educational organization which provides curricula and programming designed to connect with students from diverse backgrounds\, inviting them to take part in the Great Conversation\, cultivate the moral imagination\, and pursue truth\, goodness\, and beauty. Parham has been a member of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton\, as well as the recipient of a Fulbright grant. Might there be another\, more historically Christian way to engage our Christian political responsibility among the realities of a post-Christian fallen world? \nIsrael (Izzy) Soong; Former Director of Cyber Policy at the White House National Security Council\nIsrael Soong is former Director of Cyber Policy for the White House National Security Council. While at the NSC\, Israel coordinated inter-agency efforts to counter nation-state cyber threats to the United States critical infrastructure\, and efforts to bolster the cyber security of allied and partner nations in the Indo-Pacific. Before entering government service\, Israel was a senior vice president for strategy at a software company in the United States\, and regional vice president for an IT security company based in Asia and the Middle East. He has been a part-time seminary student at Westminster Theological Seminary\, and has written for The Gospel Coalition and for the Tennent School of Theology.  He graduated from Cornell with a BS in policy analysis in 1996 and obtained a JD from Harvard Law School and an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard in 2001.  He enjoys kayaking\, biking\, and hiking Civil War battlefields. \n\nThis event is a part of Chesterton House’s Faith & Public Life Series

Former professor and founding chair of the Art Department at Gordon College.\n\nBruce Herman (American\, b. 1953) is a painter\, writer\, and speaker. \nHerman’s art has been shown in more than 150 exhibitions — nationally in many US cities\, including New York\, Boston\, Washington\, Chicago\, Los Angeles\, and Houston — and internationally in England\, Japan\, Hong Kong\, Italy\, Canada\, and Israel. His artwork is featured in many public and private art collections including the Vatican Museum of Modern Religious Art in Rome; The Cincinnati Museum of Fine Arts print collection; The Grunewald Print Collection of the Hammer Museum\, Los Angeles; DeCordova Museum in Boston; the Cape Ann Museum; and in many colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. \nHerman taught at Gordon College for nearly four decades\, and is the founding chair of the Art Department there. He held the Lothlórien Distinguished Chair in Fine Arts for more than fifteen years\, and continues to curate exhibitions and manage the College art collection there. \nHerman completed both BFA and MFA degrees at Boston University College of Fine Arts under American artists Philip Guston\, James Weeks\, David Aronson\, Reed Kay\, and Arthur Polonsky. He was named Boston University College of Fine Arts Distinguished Alumnus of the Year 2006. \nHerman’s art may be found in dozens of journals\, popular magazines\, newspapers\, and online art features. The rise of Christianity in China is one of the biggest stories of religious change in the modern era. According to the dominant secularization paradigm\, Christianity and other organized religions should be shrinking in modernized countries like China. But today China is proving this paradigm to be wrong. Purdue University Professor Fenggang Yang is an expert in the sociology of religion in the Global East and has studied these trends for many decades. He argues that\, while this growth might be unexpected\, it is not historically unprecedented for Christianity to flourish in the soil of opposition. But\, what if there’s something “better” about singleness that gets overlooked today? Christian scripture and tradition teach us that singleness and marriage are equal callings with their own riches and pains and with complimentary roles foreshadowing the eternal life that awaits us.
