Join us for a lecture about creation and cosmology with Dr. William Carroll, hosted by the Thomistic Institute and Chesterton House.

Dr. Carroll is the Thomas Aquinas Fellow in Theology and Science at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford and a member of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Oxford. He is interested in the reception of Aristotelian science in medieval Islam, Judaism, and Christianity and the development of the doctrine of creation ex nihilo — and the appropriation of medieval discussions of creation and the natural sciences to contemporary science.  He travels frequently to China and South America giving lectures and organizing workshops on Thomas Aquinas, creation, and contemporary science. He is the author of Creation and Science; Galileo: Science and FaithLa Creación y las Ciencias Naturales: Actualidad de Santo Tomás de Aquino; and co-author with Steven Baldner of Aquinas on Creation.

The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square. The thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Universal Doctor of the Church, is their touchstone.
