Please join us for a short vespers service in the middle of Reunion Weekend. Led by Chesterton House Senior Scholar Ryan O’Dowd, we welcome alumni and summer students alike.
The tradition of Vespers prayer dates from the sixth century, and is traditionally the most prominent hour of daily prayer. It is designed to coincide with both the evening sacrifice of the Old Testament and the hour that Jesus was crucified. In concert with the setting sun, it evokes not merely the end of a day but the beginning of a new one, in which we pray and wait for God to bring the light of his salvation in the morning.
Reception in One World Cafe (ATH) to follow service.
