Little Red Wagon is about a boy’s concern for those who lost everything after hurricane Charley tore through Florida in 2007. With nothing more than a blazing spirit of philanthropy and his beat-up red wagon, Zach Bonner sets out to help homeless children in Florida and then America. In the process, he sweeps his fractured family – and ultimately the entire country – along with him. Little Red Wagon was directed by David Anspaugh, the director Hoosiers and Rudy, and produced by Cornell alums, Michael and Laurel Guillen.
After the film, we will host a short panel discussion/ Q&A session featuring:

Chesterton House is very pleased to be co-sponsoring our first event with The Rescue Mission Alliance. Headquartered in Syracuse, NY, the Alliance is a 127-year-old human service organization serving hungry and homeless individuals and families in Central New York and the Southern Tier. The faith-based organization currently offers programs in four communities: Syracuse, Binghamton, Auburn and Ithaca. The services provided include emergency shelter, meal programs, food pantries, case management, workforce development, permanent supportive housing, and spiritual care. The individuals served by the Rescue Mission come from many different situations including drug addiction, job loss, mental illness and domestic violence. Each client is assessed and has their unique needs addressed, so that they may set goals, achieve them, regain their independence and become contributing members of the community.
