Are you a scholar/student/professional wondering how to connect what you do all day with your deepest beliefs? Dr. Elaine Howard Ecklund has insights–and data–to help! Dr. Ecklund and her collaborators have surveyed more than 15,000 people and done 300 in-depth interviews on experiences of faith at work. Dr. Ecklund is a Rice University Sociology Professor and Cornell PhD Alum. She will offer insights to ground a panel conversation and two small group workshopping sessions on connecting your beliefs and your work in the Cornell community.
We’ll start with breakfast and wrap up with lunch! Based on Elaine’s book Working for Better: A New Approach to Faith at Work (IVP, 2025), and the experiences of Cornell scholars, we’ll think about how Christians and those of other faith and ethical traditions can make the world better through our work.
This event is hosted by Christian groups and grounded in the Christian tradition. We welcome those of other religious and/or ethical traditions to join us. We would love to learn from your experience of making the world better in your workplace. Come and think with us about how to be the whole of yourself in your work
