Following Joel Salatin’s lecture on Redeeming the Earth, we will talk with Cornell’s Dr. Gary Fick about some of Salatin’s work, food, sustainable agriculture, and Fick’s own book Food, Farming, and Faith. In his book, Dr. Fick explores the relationship between Christianity & science, particularly in the area of ecology and agriculture. Come join us for conversation followed by food.
Dr. Fick has studied the ecology and management of forage crops since he came to Cornell University. He has been teaching in areas related to sustainable agriculture, research methods, and more. His present research includes the study of sustainable land allocations to support a balanced local food system. He is an academic advisor, having served over 180 undergraduate and 66 graduate student advisees, an author with over 315 scientific publications and abstracts, and an editor with service to 14 scientific journals.
