Can I apply for a single-semester lease?
Because we believe your presence in the community is of great importance, we require full 10-month (fall-spring academic year) leases.
Does rent include utilities?
Yes, rent includes utilities, WIFI, trash, and use of the premises.
Can I apply as a rising sophomore?
You may apply, but before signing a lease, you would need to complete an exemption from the university to live off-campus as a sophomore. More information can be found HERE.
Can I sublease my room?
No, all residents must be accepted through the application and interview process before being offered a lease at Chesterton House.
What is the commitment requirement in the community?
Sunday Night Dinners (Praxis & Story-Sharing) 5:30-7:30 pm
Spiritual Formation (1 hour per week)
Semester Retreats (one Saturday/semester)
Semester Care Days (9AM – 12PM once/semester)
Local Church: Students will be expected to attend a local church regularly.
Cleaning/Chores (Sundays, 7:30pm – 8:30pm)
Can I take a tour of the houses?
Absolutely! We strongly encourage for you to take time to visit the community. Please reach out to us at [email protected] to schedule a tour.
Are the rooms furnished?
Yes, bedrooms and common living spaces are fully furnished. Residents will need to provide their own linens (bedding, towels and pillows).
How long can I live at Chesterton House?
In an effort to give a wide variety of students the opportunity to live in the Chesterton House community we prioritize new residents and those who have not lived in the community for 4 semesters. Students who have signed leases for 4 or more academic semesters of residency are welcome to apply, but will only be considered after December 1st. (Summers are not counted as academic semesters)
If I am a returning resident, am I guaranteed a lease for next year?
No, returning residents have no special priority over new residents.
What are the rates for the 2025-2026 academic year?
115 The Knoll (Men’s Residence):
Single: $11,050/year (10 installments of $1,105/mo)
Double: $7,700/year (10 installments of $770/mo)
Triple: $6,300/year (10 installments of $630/mo)
111 The Knoll (Women’s Residence):
Addition Single: $15,000/year (10 installments of $1,500/mo)
Addition Double: $11,000/year (10 installments of $1,100/mo)
Double: $8,500/year (10 installments of $850/mo)

Single (w/private full bath): $11,050/year (10 installments of $1,105/mo)
